As a group of large and industrial consumers of electricity and natural gas, New Mexico Industrial Energy Consumers’ members have joined together to promote competitive energy prices and to bring fair and equitable utility rates to all ratepayers in New Mexico.

Established as a non-profit organization in 1988, NMIEC is the successor to a group known as the Large Power Users Coalition, LPUC, which was formed in 1979.

NMIEC members employ more than 10,000 New Mexicans and consume over 1 billion kWh’s of electricity each year, nearly 10 percent of the State’s total use.

NMIEC’s current members are: G.C.C. Rio Grande Inc.; Honeywell DSES; Intel Corporation; Matheson Tri-Gas, Incorporated; UNM/Lobo Energy; and Presbyterian Healthcare Services.
